Bruce Alexander Day 2019

This year will see teams from U8’s – U12’s compete for the chance to be the title holders for 2019.
Our day has a simply mix of great rugby, great spirit and a chance to celebrate the end of the season with your team mates and the parents and guardians of the team members. Critical amongst our aims is to enjoy the day, compete on a fair and reasonable playing field, with your standard club team or Barbarian style teams for those that need help to get numbers to compete.
Please be aware, this is a fun junior rugby tournament that enables us to celebrate the legacies of great club people such as Bruce Alexander (Bowral Blacks) and Brett Hartley (Balmain Juniors). These teams along with Hunters Hills were the participants in our first BAD in 2016 with 3 teams. 4 years later we have 40 teams competing, across 3 sites, Tudor House, The Kings School (ages U8 & U9), Chevalier College, Burradoo, (ages U12) and Eridge Park, (ages U10 & U11) home of the might Bowral Blacks.
The competition will aim to have 2 x pools in each age group with the winners of each pool meeting in a final at Eridge Park.
This year we are excited to announce the festival of rugby, games will commence at 8am and finals will be played between 1pm – 2 pm. Once the finals have been completed, we will gather at the club house to celebrate the day with a brief presentation, followed by the opening of the bar at 2pm. We expect to have an array of culinary options available and will televise the opening game of the Wallabies World Cup campaign on a big screen at the club house. This will give us all a chance to introduce ourselves and plan ways and opportunities to grow grassroots rugby and clubs like ours.
I will be sending out more details in the coming weeks and a full draw once we have a view on the competing teams, pools will be simply drawn out of a hat so no seeding.
Team registration is $160 and there are no limits to the squad size, PLEASE COMPLETE THE  SQUAD FORMS AND SEND THEM TO ME NO LATER THAN MONDAY 16TH OF SEPTEMBER.
U8 & U9 will play at least 3 pool games each of 20 minutes with no half time
U10-U12 will play at least 3 pool games each of 2 x 15 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time.
The top pool teams will then compete in a final to decide the winners.
The $160 per team, fee this year cover grounds, referees, entertainment costs, medals and trophies for the event.
Please click on the URL below to secure a position on the day, teams that have previously attended will get preference in the case of limited space, that will expire 20 days after today to ensure we can fill the event and accommodate the expected growth in the event.
As always, we all very much appreciate the camaraderie and support of all the competing clubs.
