Bowral Blacks players have once again brought pride to the club and our district, this time at the 2016 NSW State 7s Championships at Coffs Harbour, and for the first time, in Girls 7s rugby.
Mason Tavete-Hurst (v-c), Charlie Machado, Campbell de Montemas, Oscar Moran and Matthew Lynch were members of the Illawarra team that won the U17 Boys Plate competition at this year’s championships. Illawarra went down in the Cup quarter finals to eventual champions Central North, but then fought hard and played great rugby to win the Plate final convincingly.
In the Girls competitions, Illawarra won the Plate in both the U17 and U15 Girls. Arabella McKenzie and Emily Ives represented us in the U17s Girls and Molly Good, Tessa Good, Elly Fleming, Lily Mauger and Molly Parks formed the backbone of the U15s Girls team. Windsor Akrigg, Angus Dillon, Chris Court and Kody Tozer also represented Illawarra in the U15 Boys.
Bowral Blacks is proud of our young men and women competing at State level competition, and representing our club and the Highlands with distinction.
