The Bowral Blacks’ change in form continues with a comprehensive defeat over traditional rivals Shamrocks. Bowral ran out winners 28 to 18. Bowral constructed 4 excellent tries through sticking to their structures and maintaining their discipline.
Bowral lead by 7 points to 3 at half time, but the game had an ominous feeling as Bowral were dominating the game with their scrum and maintaining over 70% of possession. 3 tries went begging with the last pass going forward or being knocked on. It was a matter of time before Bowral started racking up points.
This happened 15 minutes into the second half after Bowral successfully absorbed a Shamrocks revival after the break. Bowral ran in 3 tries in the space of 20 minutes and put the game out of reach for Shamrocks.
This marked a significant point in Bowral’s revival, as this was their first home game win in 4 seasons.
Bowral plays Tech Tahs next Saturday in Wollongong. Tech are a well coached team and this should present an opportunity for Bowral to take their structures to a new level.
Match day points were: Tom Cook (3), Michael Bach (2), Cameron Madden (1). Try scorers, Cameron Madden, Fet Lika-Sage, Ray Afamasaga and Tim Lewis.
